UFO abduction diorama lamp
I have wanted to make a ‘diorama’ with my colour fdm (Flux capacitor 7) for a long time.
Now I have finally succeeded
The project is freely copyable, printable and editable..... so free to use
The diorama consists of several parts that can be assembled with acrylic glue and M3 x 20mm screws.
The colour parts are the zip files containing the stl files to be loaded for each colour object such as the wall, the ufo, the base with road and floor, etc.
The stl are files to be printed individually in one colour
The characters are ‘Mini13’ which can also be found here on thingiverse and the only file needed modified are the feet into which I have inserted small magnets to attract them both from the lamp, which contains 2 large magnets, and from the base which has 3 magnets to hold the characters in specific positions.
Dimensions of the magnets used, all neodymium
N.3 magnets 12X4 mm for the base
N.2 magnets 25X5 mm for the lamp
N.9 small magnets 5X1.5 mm for each shoe of the Mini13
The neodymium magnets of the lamp allow a distance of more than 2 Cm from the foot of the Mini13 to the lamp
It is of course possible to change characters and positions
the rod holding the ufo lamp must be crossed by the light bulb cable ‘before’ assembling it to the base
then, once assembled to the base with 2 screws M3 X 20 mm in length, the ufo lamp should be mounted parallel to the base and secured with a little glue on the edges of the rod which fit into the ufo
Once this is done, the magnets must be inserted into the base and the part of the diorama comprising the floor and wall mounted.
The lamp used is a module I had at home as a spare to which I adapted a square profile as a cooling element
LED modules up to 65 mm in diameter can still be used.
This project is under construction and many details and modifications will be added in the coming days.....
