The file 'Two AA Battery Pack With Single-Direction Cover 3D Printer Model' is (stl, skp) file type, size is 125.6KB.

Summary

A simple two AA battery pack, with a slide-on optional lid, and two countersunk mounting holes. It uses those little generic square contact tags found on eBay, Amazon, etc, where you get 10 sets for about two pounds.

The cover on this version can only be slid on and off from one end. It's prevented from going both ways by small fin in the cover (with a corresponding notch in the main body). For those who require a cover that can slide in either direction see my other design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5325712

The main body takes about two hours to print. The cover (which you will need to rotate in your slicer) takes about an hour.

Printing isn't complicated, but the body will require some buildplate support in the areas where the solder contacts are found.

The battery contacts press into the print with the flat edge of a screwdriver, and lock in place by themselves. All you have to do is solder the tags at one end, and solder your power feeds to the tags on the other end.

I've attached the Sketchup file for anyone who wants to play about.

In closing, I must cite the words of He-Man... I haaaave the power!

26/3/2022: V2 file has a slight improvement to the solder contact recesses by eradicating the small "step" visible in the original version.
