Summary

This is a 3D printed version of the PipeMaster tubing contour gauge. Each PipeMaster is about $50+, this can be made for $11 or less. Simply order 5pc 2 mm x 500mm rod on eBay; quantity depends on how you cut them. I buy 25 rods and cut them in half. You could also buy less and cut them in thirds as they are quite long. Below is a list of how many rods you need for each size. Keep in mind you get 2-3 rods per 500mm rod.

You can also use 3/32" tig welding filler rod. instead of the ebay rods.

VERSION 2.0 IS NOW UPLOADED. Version 2 uses a rubber band to tension the rods rather than the friction of the printed holes. this will make each print more consistent and easier to use. The print will now require a small amount of support in the rubber band groove.

Version 3 is the same as v2 except with a larger rubber band groove for use with a hose clamp

When installing the rods make sure all of the support is clean out of the holes. Just use the rods to push anything out. With Version 2 the rods should slide freely. if there is too much friction cycle the rods back and forth to try and clear out the debris. Once the rods are installed double up a rubber band and place it in the groove. Once the rubber band is in the rods should not fall out when held upright. If gravity can pull the rods out tension your rubber band more.
