Some time I had a metal tube with me on my travels. The tube got squeezed and demolished in my bag, so I decided to design a travel case for the tube.
The design consists out of the actual tube case and a cap. The tube case consists out of 2 (equal) parts which are to be printed print-in-place for the hinge (maybe you could print them separately and assemble them after printing, but neither did I test this method nor do I recommend it). The cap is printed separately. The STL should be printable as-is.
The design is a customizer. The default parameter are valid for a 50g tube of Bepanthen, but you can modify the essential parameter as tube length & width / diameter, cap length & diameter and others.
As you can see, the tube can hold both a full and an almost empty tube. However, an empty tube has lots of space around it in the case, so eventually you want to wrap the tube into a tissue before putting it into the case.
