Built in 1898 by Herbrand for Nordhausen-Wernigeroder-Eisenbahn (NWE) it got the number 155. The caboose is in bad condition today but still exists. After 1958 it had the number 905-152.It was often on trains up to the late 1980s until it was replaced by reconstruction cabooses made of old box cars.

You'll find more details in the literature below.

Even it's historical close connected to number 905-153, I build earlier, it developed sightly different and if you look closer, you will spot different windows, doors and hand rails. So this caboose required a way lot more work than expected.

Printing

I printed in ABS like resin Pro flipped (y 135°) and (x 22,5°) and layer thickness like pixel sice (35µm on Mono 4K)

Post Printing

You could add the mail sorting cabinet but you have to sand a little from the sides and test. The cabinet is based on the measurement and walls need more space in model than in original scale.

Standard N wheels-set with 5,6mm should work. I didn't found any image with spoked wheels.

My suggestions - the main picture above will show how far it went until now:

• check if your set of wheels fit
• I glued a cabinet with super glue after sanding and some tests
• added a thin coat of primer
• airbrushed (cabinet,) inside and separate(!) inner wall, inside of the roof with a very light gray (broken white),
• painted floor brown (masking tape didn't kept my floor clean),
• masking windows doors and the box from above
• airbrushed outer side in red or a reddish brown depending on your timeline - have a look at the different colors at the pictures. I used Carmine red mat (Revell 36136), with a small amount of light gray paint. But keep in mind this paint appears different, depending on light sources.
• finally paint lower parts and platform black.
• add windows from film after finishing main paint job
• maybe this is the time to add the inner wall

• drop the idea of lights
• paint and add roof
• add platform part

I didn't added a printed chain to the generator, because the distance between the generator in the center and the axle is wide, maybe us could bend and use a wire instead.

Origin and licensing

The design is based on my NWE 154 and 156 design, pictures made by Julius and me for details of the 905-153 (NWE 156) and sources below.

I don't want any commercial use of this design and prints.
