The file 'TS100 Soldering Iron Case 3D Printer Model' is (stl,zip,f3d) file type, size is 7.0MB.

Summary

I really like my TS100 soldering iron. It came in a nice but ultimately non-durable cardboard box, so I was looking for a case in which to put the iron and accessories.

CHANGES

The best, from my point of view, was vchan3m's design but I have 8 tips/bits so decided to expand on the existing model, using the STEP file kindly provided with the original. I also found my iron stand/sponge-holder was bigger than in the original, so I increased the space for that. I also added a little storage compartment for odd bits like emergency solder & spare tip screws - just in case ;-)

Full details of the changes are shown further down, under "How I designed this"

TO MAKE

To make, just print Bottom.stl and StorageCover.stl, as normal.

If your magnets sink too far into their recesses, print as many copies of MagnetShim.stl as required (see other comments under "How I designed this").

Decide on how you want to deal with the top cover...

TOP COVER

If you don't want the labelling on the case top, or don't have MMU capabilities, simply print Top (plain.stl).

If you DO want to include the text/logo shown in the first pic, you will need a printer with multi-material capabilities (either with 2 or more extruders or the ability to change filaments - E.G Prusa MMU2s). To print with an MMU machine, and if your slicer understands AMF files, extract and then load the resulting AMF file from Top (with labelling - requires MMU).amf.zip Otherwise, load into your slicer both Top (with labelling - requires MMU).stl and Labelling for Top (requires MMU).stl and tell it they are part of a single model.

FYI: If you want labelling but don't have MMU capabilities, you could try printing Top (with labelling - requires MMU).stl on its own, without the actual labels. It should work if your printer is setup well and can properly bridge the gaps where the text is - try this at your own risk.

7th Aug 2020: Add .f3d files at request of RuuBu. I can't recall the difference between the two sets of Fusion 360 files, so uploaded both (maybe it's just the "cut out" bodies, used for cutting the case body). Feel frre to play/edit, at your own risk - and don't forget to share changes back here. Thanks
