Summary

I designed these brackets to fix some really bad Z wobble I had with my printer. The Z-Axis brackets that came with the printer were pretty loose which I did not like. These 2 brackets are designed to fix that issue and also are meant to replace the factory T6 lead screw with a T8 lead screw using a backlash block. If you choose to use these brackets you will also have to relocate your extruder motor. A bracket like this is what I am using to relocate the extruder motor.

For connecting the front and back brackets together you will need 3 - M5 x 50mm bolts that will stick through the V-Wheels and I would recommend using M5 lock nuts with those so they stay tight. I'm using 2 - M3 x 8mm bolts for mounting the X-Axis Stepper Motor vibration damper to the front bracket otherwise use 4 - M3 bolts if you aren't using a vibration damper. The T8 backlash block mounts to the back bracket using 2 - M5 x 20mm bolts with matching M5 nuts that fit into the backlash block (visible in the pictures). For mounting the X-Axis aluminum extrusion to the front bracket you will need 2 - M5 x 10mm bolts and 2 - M5 t-nuts. The proper length for the replacement T8 lead screw is 250mm and you'll need a 5mm to 8mm coupler to connect the T8 lead screw to the Z-Axis stepper motor shaft.

Depending on what lead screw you choose will vary your steps per mm on the Z-Axis but if you use a T8 lead screw with a 'lead' of 8mm (what I'm using) then your new steps per mm is 400. If you choose to use a T8 lead screw with a different 'lead' (such as 2mm or 4mm) then use this calculator for the proper steps per mm Steps Per MM Calculator. The easiest way to adjust steps per mm is by adding "M92 Z400" (or whatever your proper Z steps per mm is) to the "Start G-Code" section of your slicing software.
