The file 'Trimaran 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 200.9KB.
This is a simple model of a Trimaran with a sail that turns (as it is printed separately and drops into a hole in the deck). The ability to bridge the hulls is what impresses people most about this model. It looks great when the Trimaran and Sail are printed separately in different colors.
This is an easy print as long as your machine bridges well... as it needs to string the filament between the hulls to join them. The stringing will be visible on the underside but you won't see it when turned the right way up.
At standard scale the Trimaran measures approx. 97mm long and 80mm wide. The Sail's total height is approx. 130mm of which 10mm drop into the hole in the deck.
You can print the Trimaran with just two shells and 10 - 15% infill however the Sail needs to be more shells (3) and high infill (75%) to make sure the mast is strong. However, this doesn't use much filament due to the Sail being very thin.
Take care when removing the Sail from the build plate and removing the raft (if used) so you don't crack / break it. It shouldn't be too fragile but it's better to take you time than have to print it again....
Please read the print instructions and view the images for additional information.... and post photos of your Trimarans!
