Summary

This is a 1:20 scale model of a Triceratops prorsus skeleton. The source model was provided thanks to Thingiverse user Ravelios. The original source of the model is not known for certain, but appears to be either from free model site Animium (http://animium.com/2014/11/triceratops-skeleton) or CadNav (http://www.cadnav.com/3d-models/model-19484.html).

I scaled the model to approximately 1:20 to match the Makerbot T. Rex and Stegosaurus models. The Triceratops was a contemporary of the T. Rex during the late Cretaceous period. The Triceratops prorsus was thought to have reached 9 meters in length, and so this model when assembled is ~45cm long. Instructions for assembly are included in the files. More information on the Triceratops is available on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triceratops)

Using Meshmixer, I posed the skeleton into a walk and curved the tail for a more natural look. I broke the model into printable pieces and added connecting pins and sockets for a mostly snap together assembly. Some glue may be required however. The base was created from scratch.
