This is a replacement for the caliper's pen holder from the boardgame Treasure Island.
The original plastic pen holder on mine broke and it was also not made to hold pens with larger diameter than the ones originally provided in the game (~ 10mm). Using this pen holder, it's possible to use pens to up to ~12.5mm diameter.
