Summary

Where does a Cybertronian warlord plant his ass after a long hard eon of brutally dismembering opposing factions? On an equally imposing throne, of course. WFC Siege is shaping up to be a raw and war-torn chapter in the lives of our little plastic buddies, and I felt the need for some accessories. Perhaps this will be the start of some type of diorama-type setup. I dunno. But, I'm starting with the centerpiece.

I've obviously taken some inspiration from the SDCC Throne of the Primes that was released this year. But, I didn't want for it to only reference POTP...so I left off the references to the Prime Master insignia. Instead, I included Autobot and Decepticon insignia from G1, G2 and BW (trying to make everyone happy here...plus, maybe we'll get some beasties as the WFC Trilogy rolls on).

There are three "banners" that mount to holes on the back rest of the throne. The banners, as well as the front "ramp" area, currently feature Cybertronian text more or less in line with the Siege theme. Have fun translating, nerds!

There are also 5 mm square and round ports all over the throne to allow the placement of weapons with 5 mm pegs and/or Titan Masters and Prime Masters.

The finished version shown was printed in ABS at a layer height of 0.15 mm and 10% infill. It was painted using Testors Acrylics. The only areas where supports are required are the "vents" on the lower left and right of the seat, between the horizontal bars on the back of the seat and beneath the banners. I also removed some material from the bottom of the throne to reduce the amount of surface area in contact with the print bed, reduce printing time and material and, hopefully, make print removal a bit easier.

UPDATE!! I just uploaded Version 2 of the throne (don't worry...Version 1 is still available for download). This new version features added seat height to more comfortably accommodate taller figures (Voyager class). I also added some additional details using the new real estate available on the front of the throne. The details include Siege-inspired insignia and designs as well as two mounting points for chaining pets, slaves or prisoners to the front of the throne (check out the picture of Siege Lionizer chained to the front of the throne for reference). This version of the throne is designed to be printed in four main pieces to accommodate smaller printers as well as to maximize printed detail quality on the lower front face plates. This version also uses the same three banners as Version 1.

Let me know what you all think. Comments and suggestions are welcome!
