I have a tall hexagon shaped 20 gallon tank and I wanted the pickup to be closer to the bottom of the tank. I felt like this would improve the water circulation of the tank as well as hopefully improve the cleanliness near the bottom of the tank.
It probably will not scale well because of the attachment bumps along the way. I used tinkercad, so I know the model isn't perfect, but it's inline with my skillset.
