This is a basic file for the Tool Gun from Garry's Mod. This was something I made years ago, but still had the files for. Included are some textures for the batteries (print them on glossy photo paper and wrap them around some real batteries with the labels removed. In retrospect, I should have used an A23 battery on the side, the proportions fit much closer to the original.

You'll need some copper winding wire, some black and earth colour electrical tape, a battery holder, 9V battery clip, LEDs, a suitable screen and PCB, and ideally a wooden grip - printed ones won't look right. Wrapping it with medical fabric strapping tape and sticking a strip of masking tape over the top gives a good look.

I've included all my reference images as well, for help with finishing.

For people much cleverer than me, I reckon it might be possible to replace the mainboard with a raspberry pi, and then literally run windows 95 on the thing with a real screen. There's a 2.8” USB TFT touchscreen somewhere on the market that looks about the right size, and with a custom ribbon USB cable could fit nicely. There is also a 254SA103B60B SMD joystick that might just fit into the handle. Plus a lot of tutorials for making a joystick usb mouse using arduino, so that's a start. Plus, a pi should be able to run Win98 meaning that it might fit nicely with the garry's mod vibe in the on-screen graphics.
