Summary

Updates

2021-04-21: Created two assembly videos:
Puzzle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El2c8vX6z0g
Wall Mount: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDqg4a3NEEE
They are in German and the version of the figure platform is different to the version here but I'm sure you'lll work out what belongs where...

2020-05-08: Updated the backplate jig. It uses less filament/print time and supports now vertical and horizontal orientation for the backplates.
Additionally there is a drawing for the jig if you don't want to print it in 3D but print it out on paper and cut it out (since most of the time you only needed it once)

2019-10-18: Added a new figure platform. It is wider than the old one because there are now Tonies with a much bigger base.
Additionally the groove now can hold any flat steel bar instead if the magnets. The magnets are expensive and the Tonies themselves are already magnetic.
So any flat steel bar with 15x120x2mm will fit, e.g. https://www.hornbach.de/shop/Flachstange-Edelstahl-15x2mm-1m/4249594/artikel.html

2019-09-20: Added a backplate jig for easier alignment and mount of multiple backplates/puzzles

All the wall mounts for a Toniebox were quite expensive so I designed my own. So here is the Toniebox wall mount "Puzzle" style.

Features

  • Puzzles are all the same. Print as many as you want and put them together
  • Either print the puzzle pieces with the already available holes or print the one with the 'hidden' holes and only drill the ones open that you want/need.
  • Figure and Toniebox platform have all the same hole spacing. They can be placed wherever you want.
  • Figure platform has grooves to add magnets (top and bottom)
  • Wall mount is hidden behind the puzzles. Align multiple wall mounts (backplates) with the provided jig). You don't need to fix every puzzle to the wall. I used two wall mounts for four puzzles. So maybe two mounts per tonie box is sufficient.

Non printable parts

To attach the platforms you need two M4x20 screws and two M4 nuts for each platform. For the backplate / wall mount you just need a standard screw.
I added a small groove for magnets in the figure platform (top and bottom) to ensure a better stand. I used the following ones: https://www.amazon.de/Magnete-Magnetics-rechteckig-Permanentmagnet-Building/dp/B077L1RPRM/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1540157629&sr=8-10&keywords=neodym+magnet. One Platform needs 12 magnets (6 top and 6 bottom)
However I found out that you don't need magnets. The figures itself contain the magnets. So you only need something magnetic and add it to the platforms.
As soon as I have something similar I will update the files accordingly.

Upload a make if you print it!
