The file 'Toilet Seat Slide-preventer / Alignment Block (parametric, Customizable) 3D Printer Model' is (scad, stl) file type, size is 59.0KB.
Replacement toilet seat bumpers that include a hook to keep the seat from sliding left or right in case of a "hard landing".
Helps to save the bolts and hinges from loosening or breaking when someone puts high sideways force on the toilet seat.
Note: this design only works on toilet seats with removable feet/bumpers which have two pin holes.
There are other similar designs that already exist (here and here), but I wanted something that would hook on the outside instead of the inside, for cleanliness sake.
Instructions:
You will need some Information in order to customize the design for your toilet seat. Remove one of the bumpers from your toilet seat and measure:
Customize the design and print. You will need to print one "clip" and two "pins" for each side.
Take the pins and insert them in to the holes on the printed "clip". I recommend you insert the pins with the rounded end on the outside. You may need to use a small knife to trim around the edge of the holes first, depending on how much first-layer "squish" your printer has.
Insert the whole assembly in to the holes from the original bumper, ensuring the flange is facing the outside of the toilet.
Close the seat and make sure the flange is the correct distance from the outside edge of the toilet bowl. It should touch (or come close) but not be tight.
