The file 'TIL+ Opening Door: Prison Door (with Standalone Version) 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 745.0KB.
I've been making my TIL+ walls for the Resident Evil 2 board game (which a door per wall set) and someone suggested a prison door. It sounded like a good idea to me, so went ahead and put this together! This Thing has both the TIL+ version that slots into columns and the standalone version that can be used without the walls.
I tried to make this FDM-friendly by tapering the horizontal bars on the bottom, so that it only has to make a very narrow bridge first (which will also be very short because of the bars), which is then built upon to get out to the full size.
I printed mine with .1 mm layers, although I think that these should print ok all the way up to .2 mm layers. The gaps around the hinges are .2 mm, so if you use larger layers, there's a really good chance that the hinges are going to be fused with the door. Also, even with my .1 mm layers, I have to give the doors a good wiggle the first time I open them to get them to release from the other layers.
As always, the original .blend file for this model is available to my patrons at https://patreon.com/VirtuallyJason. If you enjoy my work and have a few dollars to spare each month, please consider joining up =)
