It was the weekend, and I didn't have the right screw on hand. In the spirit of "if it works, it's not stupid," I decided to design a Thumb Screw Knob in Fusion 360 for a carriage bolt (German: Schloßschraube DIN 603). The design was specifically made for an M5 carriage bolt—the type with a rounded head and a square neck that locks into place, preventing rotation.
To ensure the bolt doesn’t fall out, I incorporated a clip-lock mechanism that holds the screw securely in the housing. Surprisingly, it works really well with PLA+ material. Even at the resolution I used, both the slicer and the printer handled the print perfectly.
This part was designed to function as a GoPro mount Thumb Screw.
