Summary

A replacement threaded end for a paint roller extension pole or broom, mop, or duster handle. This fits a hollow pipe with an inner diameter of approximately 0.8" / 20.4mm. The source is included if your pole diameter is different. It fits my rollers, brooms, mop, and duster well with no play in the threads once tightened down.

One of my paint roller extension poles had the threaded end break off (yellow part in the picture). I modelled a replacement based on measurements from 5 other extension poles / handles I had (for paint rollers, brooms, mops, and dusters) and the original. All had a diameter between 17.5mm and 18.5mm, with a thread pitch of either ~4.75mm (3/16") or 5mm depending on the handle. The threads I used are M18x5.

One side is flat so that this can be printed laying down (for strength) without supports, but this can be disabled in the source.

This uses Dan Kirshner's excellent GPLv3 licensed openscad-threads library, available at http://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/threads.scad .
