Partially a conceptually symbolic piece, partially a decorative hairpiece, the Thornament is primarily an aesthetically concerned artifact. If you print one, it could definitely be worn, but be warned that wearing it will not be a particularly simple process, and it’s likely you’ll have to be a little careful so that the pins won’t snap.
While roses are classical objects, invoking romantic passion and all that jazz, people should also keep in mind that every rose has its thorns. Frankly, that’s part of its charm. Some things are all the more beautiful because of the fact that you could literally bleed from a dozen places just from a single touch.
By printing a Thornament, you can simply revel in its ornamental value. However, with the spines on the pins, you’ll also have a continuous reminder of what might lay under superficial beauty and retain a sense of concealed edges.
