Summary

This is my take on the Slim Wallet of Pentland designs. I wasn't totally happy with what he made so I changed it until I was! :)

The changes that I made:

  • The lock and the arm for the cards are now on opposite sides. This makes for a seamless one hand experience.
  • There is a stop in the hinge which makes it not turn further than about 60 degrees. This way you are always able to push the cards down.
  • There where some small inconsistencies in the thickness of the card arm which caused multiple cards to pop up on the same step. So changed that.
  • because this model required very tight tolerances I moved the lock pieces up so it is easier to move after printing.
  • I removed the hole on the bottom. I know this is used to crack the arm loose but I used a different method for that.

If you are a lefty you might want to mirror the model! :p

How do I print this?
The way this is easiest for you printer to print is to have the arm separate from the rest of the model on the build-plate.
After printing you can then insert the arm in the rest of the wallet. You might want to use a heatgun to soften the plastic a bit so it is easier to get it in.
