The file 'The Purpose, Work, And Meaning Of Life 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 1.2MB.
The following quote is commonly attributed to David Viscott: “The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The work of life is to develop it. The meaning of life is to give your gift away.”
This model has a base of 200mm(L) x 200mm(W) x 1.5mm(H). The lettering is an additional 1 mm in height for a total of 2.5mm. Although not completely necessary, I’d highly recommend a filament change. I used gray filament for the base and a rainbow filament (that was more or less metallic blue at the time) for the words. For future prints, I will probably choose colors that provide greater contrast.
I used a layer height of 0.12mm primarily because I wanted to ensure that the base would print smoothly. With thicker layer heights (e.g., 0.2mm), I tend to get splotches on what should otherwise be perfectly smooth surfaces (probably needed to adjust for over-extrusion). To further ensure a smooth base, I used 100% infill because I was trying to minimize alignment issues due to print head retractions as the hot end transitions between printing the surface of the base and the infill patters underneath the words. It added to the print time (a total of 15 hours on my Creality Ender-3 V2 Neo), but I got the results I wanted.
