This is the first design of mine that I'm sharing. I love me a good fighting game whether it be Street Fighter 6, SFIII: Third Strike, Guilty Gear, or Tekken. One thing, though, I'm broke, and can't afford a shiny, name-brand Hitbox. So, I designed one myself and it works amazingly.
It uses this $12 board that I found on Amazon along with a bunch of 24mm sanwa style buttons that I got for a solid $20, totaling the whole project to around $35; a fraction of the premium prices found on the official page, and also half the cost of a standard Xbox controller. The box itself, however, can support any mainboard that uses a USB-B output (hence the square hole in the back).
Traditionally, these things have a 30mm button for the up DI (jump) button, but mine doesn't have one cause I was going for maximum price efficiency. If anyone wants a version, I guess I could go back and make another lid with a 30mm button slot if this thing gets much attention. Speaking of going back, I'm thinking of changing the ergonomics of it to allow for more clearance between the board and the buttons, as the only way to make it fit is to bend back the pins on the bottoms of them so that you can close and seal the box up. When I was supergluing mine together, I ran into a lot of trouble with the board pushing up the lid due to clearance issues. Still, I didn't bother making another version, because I thought it would ruin the ergonomics of the box, which was already tall to begin with. Though once again, if people want it changed I would be happy to make a new version.
