This is a customizable, rounded S-hook with optional end-caps for hanging whatever you want, wherever you want it!

Uses

• Hang a bird feeder on a bird feeder station
• Hang clothes on a wardrobe/closet hanger rail
• Hang kitchen utensils on a utensil rail
• Hang Christmas stockings on a bedframe

Customizations

It's possible to customize:

• The top and bottom curve sizes and opening angles independently
• Thickness
• Length of the centre straight section
• End cap style (ball or spike) and size
• Smoothness of curves

How To Customize

You can customize this on Thingiverse itself if the Customizer is working: just press the blue Customizer button to launch it.

If the Customizer is not working you can customize it on your own computer:

• Download and install OpenSCAD.
• Download the EMU-S-Hook.scad file from this page.
• Launch OpenSCAD and File › Open the EMU-S-Hook.scad file.
• Select Design › Preview (or press F5) to preview the design.
• Scroll down to line 21 in the code to find the values you can change.
• Tweak the values, and re-run the preview (F5) to see what effect it's had.
• When you're happy with the design select Design › Render (F6). This may take a few seconds. (Don't worry about the weird colourings in the render.)
• When you're happy, select File › Export › Export as STL (F7) to export your STL. This can then be sliced like normal in your favourite slicer.

Background

I needed an S-hook to hang a new bird feeder I bought. I printed the Ultimate S-Hook by mike_mattala and, whilst it worked a treat, I wasn't too keen on its squareness, so I wondered how easy it would be to create a rounded version.

It turns out it wasn't that hard at all and I had what I needed thirty minutes later. But then curiosity got the better of me and I progressively made each part customizable. So now there's a new ultimate S-hook on the block, baby :)
