Summary

I wanted to put my old teufel surround sound speakers on the ceiling as atmos / dts-x speakers.
Designed these mounts to be able to put them up and adjust their angle properly.
The mounts are decently beefy to support the weights of the speakers. Print in PETG.

How to attach the Speaker half (TeufelCeilingMount.stl) of this thing to your Teufel speaker:

  • place an m5 nut in the recess of the part.
  • from the flat bottom of the part, screw in a m5 12mm flat-head screw into the nut, not all the way, just so far that i grips the threads.
  • now using trial and error, screw the m5 as far as you can while still being able to slide it into the recess of the speaker back on the opposite side of the threaded insert (see pictures).
  • using an m6 x 8mm hexagon socket (shorten a longer one with a dremel for example), fix the part to the speakers inbuild threaded hole.

Bolt the ceiling mount (TeufelCeilingMountPlate.stl) to the ceiling first, then assemble the hinge using a m5 50mm bolt and a corresponding m5 nut
