Summary

If you have an iPhone 12, see my new version for the MagSafe puck here:

This has quite a few modifications from the original design.

  • New variations for different phone models and case sizes
  • Adjusted bottom portion which was running into the rubber bottom mat
  • Added lower shelf for the phone to sit on, little nicer when putting the phone in
  • Filled the holes on the top and rounded the top edge for a nicer finish

Overall the original design was by far the best wireless dock I could find for the Model S and X. Hopefully these modifications make it a bit better.

With all variations of the dock, including the ones for the larger plus-sized phones, the door still closes. This is the same as the original design but I thought it was a nice feature so I wanted to point it out.

The first one I printed in PLA lasted a while, but I live in Texas and even with Cabin Overheat Protection turned on it warped a bit in the summer. I re-printed this in PETG with no other modifications and it lasted the rest of the summer no problem, so if you live in a warmer climate I'd suggest printing in PETG for best results.

This is the charging pad it's designed for (multiple links because sometimes they go out of stock):
