I modeled these with holes for 6mm x 2mm magnets. Superglue a magnet into the counter then place another magnet under the board until you hear the click. Counter stays in place while still being mobile on the game board. I recommend putting small rubber feet on the game board to give it some lift to let the underside magnets slide.
