Good friend of mine Wumbo'ed his brake lever on a bike he doesn't plan to keep around forever. This is probably better than collapsed aluminum.
Lever blade is easy to remove by hammering out the pivoting pin from the bottom, then turning the lever-in setting all the way clockwise
Install in reverse order.
