The file 'TARDIS With Light And Sound FX 3D Printer Model' is (stl,h,skp, ino) file type, size is 143.2KB.
I really liked Captain Spatula's Deluxe TARDIS design but I wanted the lights to pulse and I wanted to add sound, I also only had 3mm LEDs on hand. I've remade some of the parts, specifically the following:
Note you'll need to download the parts from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:124033 first, if you have the 5mm LEDs then the only custom part you need from mine is the battery holder.
LED Holder - Redesigned for 3mm LEDs
Lamp Shade - Redesigned for 3mm LEDs
Battery Holder - Redesigned to allow an Arduino Pro Mini Clone (the ebay ones) to fit as well as added a ledge for a speaker to rest on.
The power consumption is pretty low, the initial sequence is around 60mA then after it should be down around 40mA
The Arduino code is pretty simple, this was actually my first Arduino project so the code may not be completely optimized but it seems to work well. It uses the tone library to play the Doctor Who intro theme, then the lights turn on and for the first 3 cycles of the light dimming the speakers emit a tone that follows the light (a crude simulation of the takeoff sound) then the speaker mutes and the light keeps pulsing.
