My entry in the Tardis Light Switch face plate race..:-)
The original design didn't fit flush to the wall, didn't extend out far enough on the sides to cover as much as a normal face plate did. While I liked a lot of the two piece face plate designs, I decided to go one further and make them so the back plate and face would snap together. This way alignment when the plate was mounted was assured and with the cavity in the backing plate it would clear the ears on the switch.
The mounting screws for the face plate hold it and the backing plate in place.
About the only improvement would be to use some blue paint on the screw heads so they don't stand out, and add a decal to the front of the roof.
Edit Jan 29 2017 - Added a slightly modified face plate that removes the ridge running inline with the switch. This exposes more of the switch so it's easier to flip the switch on and off.
Feb 4, 2017 - Made a more "relaxed" bottom plate for an easier fit. Called it : Tardis_Switch_Plate_Bottom_Relaxed
