Summary

The tracks are finally moving!

Since I like the improving tank designs from timmiclark a lot, I had to do something with this.
The flat track layout from MR4, is more handy (in case of rotational platform on top), I'm going for this design. Since the MR6 tracks seems to be improved version, I'll use this track interface.

I did change the tracks, although they should still match the gearing from MR6:

  • Changed some drafts, so no brim/support is required
  • Added both a 2.85 (& 1.75 experimental)
  • Changed the height of the outside of the track. Outer dimension is now 50 mm. I think this will improve the track movement, when the outside is closer to the same height of the pivot points.

There are 2 options:
Using 2 electric motors for one track:

  • 36x tracks + filament rods
  • 2x motor frames
  • 4x driving wheels
  • 2x motors.

Using 1 electric motor for one track:

  • 36x tracks
  • 2x motor frames
  • 2x driving wheels
  • 2x driven wheels
  • 2x fake motor parts
  • 1x motors.
  • 2x flanged bearing

Adjustments needed:

  • Bore hole in motor frame, where you want to have the wires coming out.
  • I remembered, drilling all track holes for better fit.

MR4 compatibility:
It's also possible to reuse the MR4 body parts.
So in this case the basic difference with MR4 tank: improved tracks.
