The file 'Tamiya Clod Buster Wheel 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 1.4MB.
NEW: Added a new version of the rim with outer stiffening ribs, and updated the original rim to include inner stiffening ribs similar to the original Clod rims.
I built these from scratch in AutoDesk 123D after trying derrick84's wheels here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1752569
I found those a bit chunky and didn't like the way they went together. I also wasn't bothered about the bead lock aspect and preferred to retain the stock offset, so decided to build some proper monster truck-style hubs and wheels that matched the original Clod Buster rim design.
These were printed in PLA as my Clod Buster is a shelf queen, but they would probably withstand use as they're pretty solid. Printing them in ABS would probably make them more durable for a runner, and an acetone smooth would give them a nicer finish.
If you build some and run them please comment on how they hold up. I can always add some material and/or strengthening ribs to beef them up.
The hub cap was designed to be removable only when the wheel is removed so it doesn't get lost. It is a pretty tight fit, though, so I can always make a version where this was removable while the rim was still on to make removing the wheels easier.
You'll need to print:
4x hubs
4x hub caps
4x wheels
You'll also need:
32x M3x12 bolts
Pop the brass splined hex into the back of the new hub and secure it on the axle with the original wheel nut. Put the hub cap on (it's tight!) then attach the wheel using the M3x12 bolts.
You may also want to pre-tap the holes in the hub, and drill one or two holes inside the wheels depending on how squishy you want the tyres to be.
Happy Clodding!
