When designing the flower, the developers picked the color before the shape. It was difficult to design because it would be a prominent element in the story and the designers wanted to make it disappear like dust. Elements of lavender, nigella, and iris were mixed to design the sylleblossom. Different color variants symbolize different things, but the blue version represents "a heart that does not give up" and "sincerity".
There are also red and white coloring variants.
