A survival fishing spool. It is meant to be used as a cuban yoyo, where you hold the spool with one hand, and swing with the other the end of the line like a lasso, letting go of the line at the correct moment. This is perfect for bug out bags (BOB) or "I´m never coming home" bags (INCH). Needless to say, it can be used for casual fishing, and it can fit in your back pocket.
I have read online that monofilament line is better than braided when it comes to hand casting, since it doesn´t retain the shape of how it was stored. I use 10.5 kg line (around 20 lbs), but you can choose whatever suits your taste.
0.20 print layer height works well, heigher layer height might be too rough and scratch the line, making it less durable.
I recommend printing with PETG for increased strength and sun resistance. 50% infill will be resistant enough for this type of fishing, but you can always increase it. If going with PLA I would go with an 80-100% infill.
Enjoy!
