Summary

This is my second 3D model I have ever designed (both Superior Spider-Man backpack prototypes). I made the first version of the Superior Spider-Man backpack in Blender. It is very simple and prints weird... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3644162

This time I checked out Fusion 360. Let's just say that I found it to be WAAAAAAAY more intuitive... Just watching a few quick videos and tutorials and I was able to throw this together in a few hours over the course of an evening.

I included the Fusion 360 file in the download if you want to play around with it.

No clue if it will print without failing as it is hollow and I am not really sure how to handle it without a very painful support removal process. Any advice? Let me know!

I plan to attach it to the back of my zentai suit with magnets in the same way that I tested the original design linked above. I figure if I am only carrying my phone and maybe my Con badge (when taking pictures) that it won't add too much to the weight and the magnets should be able to hold fine through the suit. So far I have been pretty happy with my magnet tests.

This version is a lot more sleek and hopefully I designed it in a way that is actually functional. It is also a bit bigger than my previous model so you can of course scale to your liking. It does have a divider down the middle because of the way I designed and spit it. Feel free to remix it to remove the divider and only have a top and bottom piece.

There are recesses in the design for magnets in the top and bottom pieces that should marry up nicely. Without scaling they should fit 8mmX2mm circular magnets. Those should be overkill to keep the lids on. I will probably be gluing the top pieces together and the bottom pieces together so it is only 2 pieces after printing. That is probably obvious, but dunno...

I plan on tweaking this thing until it works so I can use it for cosplay so please give input or remix!
