This modification relocates the fan opening of the SUNLU FilaDryer S2 to the outside and includes a lid that allows you to adjust the airflow between fresh air intake and recirculating air. With this setup, the dryer achieves lower humidity levels faster and reaches an overall lower humidity compared to the unmodified version.
Note: The dryer will be louder when the lid is open.
Required Components
- 4x M3 screws (16 mm length)
- 4x M3 nuts
Assembly Instructions
1. Print the Frame and Lid
- Print the frame using snug support settings.
- After removing the frame from the heat bed, gently bend it into shape. Alternatively, use a heat gun to adjust its shape later if needed.
2. Prepare the Dryer
- Remove the bottom heater from the dryer and unscrew the fan.
- Drill a suction opening and create screw holes in the bottom panel.
Caution: Be careful not to damage the internal cables.
3. Adjust the Spacers
- Remove the existing spacers as shown.
- Place a small drop of hot glue to serve as new spacer.
4. Seal the Frame (Optional)
- Apply silicone around the edges of the frame for better sealing.
- Screw the frame onto the dryer.
5. Reinstall the Fan
- Rotate the fan so that the blades face downward and reattach it using screws.
