The original fit my 2012 Forester but not my wife's 2011 Outback. I trimmed the bottom flange to fit behind the reinforcing sheet metal. It's not a perfect fit; it moves around a bit. However, it works and would be easy to secure with some Goop, ShoeGoo, or Gorilla Grip.
