Summary

For my air venting system for my basement I needed an air valve that is automatically operated via an arduino electronics. The existing commercial valves were to expensive and to boring, so I bought a manually operated valve and constructed a gearbox for operation with a NEMA 17 stepper motor.
The gerarbox is 25:1 so the stepper motor has enogh power to operate the valve at 60 rpm.
There is a flange for attaching another small electronics enclosure, I plan to put the stepper motor controller here later.
The gearbox design was based on the Thingiverse-Model https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1924502, but I redesigned the complete housing for this purpose. In the original design the screw gear pushed the bearing out of the housing when operated, so I included a cap to prevent this. The screws are 3 mm sheet metal screws.
The bearings are 625ZZ.
The axis for operating of the air valve is printed, too, it needs some fixing with plastic glue to the gear, otherwise it is not tight enough. You could replace with some metal part, but I did not have one and wanted to print as much as possible of the parts. And it works like it is, anyway.
