This is a design for a case and spacer insert for the Starboard stenography keyboard.
This print doesn't have the hole in the bottom of the case for a tripod mount, just extend the cylinder hole in the OpenScad file if you need it.
I printed the insert in PLA, but the goal is to print it in a soft TPU to absorb some of the keypress noise.
It's a tight fit and I had to file down one of the two top tabs that hold the board down. In hindsight, these tabs don't need to overhang by 2mm, 1.5 would be enough.
To assemble : Align the insert with the underside of the PCB to ensure every bump fits in a spacing hole, then insert both of them into the case, lower-side first, then usb-c side last.
Enjoy !
Update Oct 4th 2024 : Added the STL and OpenScad files for a case travel shell, but it is yet untested
Update Oct 5th 2024 : Fixed the thickness problement of the top shell and added 5 degree angle. When using the shell as a base, it lifts the thumb keys by about 1cm. When modifying the angle in the OpenScad, remember to also change the shell total thickness so that the lowest side of the shell is still 22mm thick (you need 20mm interior clearance).
Update Oct 8th 2024 : Top shell once printed was too snug and didnt enclose the bottom part completely. Readjusted the clearance and depth. Picture of keyboard + case over the inverted top shell is from Oct 5th's version of the files
