Summary

This is my version of NOMAD from Star Trek Original Series. Episode - The Changeling. Nomad, "Biological infestation must be sterilized. Non sequitur. Your facts are uncoordinated."

This model is designed so you can light up the body.

January 2020 - Updated with panel body parts. Print Panel Top upside down so no supports. Print 4 of the body panels. You will need to create some little tabs to glue to Body Top and then glue each panel in. The advantage of using this version is that the holes in the body come out much cleaner. The disadvantage is that there's more work and post print processing.

Here's a great model maker creating his version of NOMAD.

Notes

  • BODY = THERE IS A FRONT. THE BOTTOM FITS ONLY ONE WAY! THIS IS BY DESIGN.
  • Print the body with the solid side to build plate (like a vase)
  • The body not labeled for FDM may not be printable using a FDM printer. The holes are too fine for a .4 nozzle. If you have a .25, you might be able to do it. DLP/SLA only
  • FDM - print split head
  • LED - I use a 5mm diameter common LED. The light mounts are designed for those LEDs.
