The file 'Star Trek Badges/Insignia 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 61.6KB.
I love this two-part model of the Star Trek uniform badges but also wanted the Engineering, Sciences, and Medical insignia from the original series (TOS).
The Command and Engineering badges work fine as cutouts where you see the black background through them. But the Sciences and Medical badges have issues.
The Sciences badge presents a problem since you end up with several loose pieces. So I created a few different options:
science-separate-pieces.stl will print out the separate pieces which you'll have to secure in place manually on the base.
science-with-back.stl is not a cutout; it has a solid bottom layer. You'll need to print the bottom solid layer in black and then print the rest of the badge in gold/silver/bronze/??? (What color are those STTOS badges?)
The Medical badge has the problem that the color you see through the cutout is red while the outline of the badge is black. So I've put up two different files:
medical.stl simply has a cutout. You'll need to color red inside the cutout or print the base in red and color the outer edges black.
I have scaled the insignia down slightly from the original so they fit easily into the base. You'll need to secure them in place; they won't snap in and stay. Glue will attach them permanently. I also used double-sided tape on one so I could change it out.
Attach a button magnet to the back and any shirt becomes a Star Trek shirt.
