Wire. You head out, pick up 80m of assorted hookup in fancy colours to make a keyboard.. and it ends up in piles.. but no more! Why not just print out a spool? And since i can make it a custom object, might as well add a few extra features that I always want. In brief:
all the cutouts are 2.2mm nominal so you can thread the wire through it to hold things down neatly,
those long cuts should give you an at-a-glance side view of how much you have left
since they're 2.2 nom, you can also stack your spools on top of each other, just put your loose end through one of the small holes, and then whatever you shove on top? align the wire through the hole and you're good.
The part is done up as a simple object that's mirrored - print as many half spools as you need and join together. Note! Those center pegs are for alignment ONLY. Unless you want to print at 100%, they will snap off. You will want to apply a glue to fasten it all together and fill those voids
I would say just do the thing at 20% fill and 0.2mm layer height and be done with it - it's a utility piece.
