Summary

What is it?

Modular and stack-able basic support stick for plants. That means: the taller your plant grows, the more you simply print and put together.

What is the reason for it?

  • Length should be adjusted for plant height

  • As simple, easy and fast to print as possible

  • Mechanism to fix plant loosely to the stick

Why this and not others?

Simply saying, I was not able to find something like this, which fit my needs in an acceptable way. Only partly reasonable solution I found was that: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1677408. However it was pretty big and felt it was "too much". Other solutions like https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:352015 or https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:845519 required, that I own sticks. Well I do not.

What is the solution then?

Summing up in short:

  • Printing time: ~1hr (with Flashforge Creator Pro)

  • Material usage: ~14g

  • Total length: 220mm (smaller print volume may require printing in diagonal, or scaling down a bit)

  • Sticks can be stacked easily, where smaller plants may require 1 stick, taller plants maybe 2-3 sticks

  • 7 holes, each diameter 2.5mm for binding of the plant. (When buying electronics you always have those tiny black/white binders holding the cables together, they fit perfectly through those holes. You can also consider to print a small hook, that fits inside, if you want to keep this as a 100% printable solution)
