This is a design for a quick-swap filament spool holder that I made with Inventor in about 10 minutes. It is supposed to fit any height spool, as long as the inner bore is 55mm in diameter. You need two spools of filament for this, as the first part (with the bearing) fits into a spool to use it as a weighted anchor. The spool that you want to use slides on the top (over the spacers on the 8mm threaded rod).
Each part needs to be rotated 90° around it's X-axis. This is my first project with Inventor and I had issues exporting with it. The nuts and bearings can just be snugly press-fit into the holes of each part. See the pictures for reference, they are in order of assembly.
Make sure that this is printed with support, otherwise the cutouts for washers and bearings will be deformed.
I used a 608-2RS bearing (it just press-fits into the bottom-most part), measuring 22x7mm, with an 8mm bore. They look something like this.
If you want the Inventor files so that you van make a remix, go to my repository. If you make any changes, I want those back! Please properly fork the repository to your own account or create a remix on Thingiverse and upload your files.
