The file 'Spool Storage System 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 673.9KB.
Hi. Here is my design of spool storage system.
Reel i have used are from colourfab filament.
Few things to be done once all parts are printed. Each drawer is tapped with M3 tap. It takes a long time and you have to be careful. You can probably use self tapping screws but I preffer M3.
Reel have to drilled on one side as holes are offset. Drill bit used 3.2 mm.
Base is tapped with M6 to fit M6 screw rod. Screw rod is cut to size depending on how many levels you are building. On the top i used single spring washer and nylon lock nut. Be careful when tightening it too much force can crack the base.
Two ring insert parts fit together to create single part which goes between levels providing separation.
Top insert needs to be printed with support. Ball bearing is inserted into that part. Ball bearing required is 19 mm OD and 6 mm ID.
Top plug has small hole in it. It can be tapped with M3 for easy removal when required.
Two sizes of drawers are included. I have used 45mm height.
I hope i mentioned everything.
Hope you like it.
