Remix of Nick Groot excellent design to improve the performance for the Spinning Top. I really like his spinning top, but when playing with it I noticed it was generating a lot of wind right under it -you could easily notice it if you spin it in a dish and you put your hands inside the dish.
Then I noticed those 6 supports were acting as blades and pushing a lot of air -which reduced its performance. I remixed his design by adding flat supports (1mm). Then printed it and immediately noticed a 40% performance improvement -before I could make 57 seconds and hardly reached 1 minute, now on the first spin I did 1:20 minutes.
Edit: I generated a second version -a solid one with no "blades". This one on the first attempt allowed me to get 1:33 minutes, so about +63% better than the original. No air resistance at all on this one, so no wind!
All of the spinning tops were printed at 100% of infill -including the original- to ensure a fair comparison.
