The file 'SpiderBeam 12M Fiberglass Mast Guy Rings And Ground Cup 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 1.0MB.

Summary

Supports for SpiderBeam 12M telescopic fiberglass mast. SpiderBeam mast is commonly used in Amateur Radio to deploy antennas in portable radio operation.

Includes two Guy Rings for first and second sections of the mast, and ground cup to receive ground spike with the protective cover.

Inside diameters of the guy rings for first and second sections of the mast are 56mm and 51mm respectively. The rings are tightened with star knob. I made the rings wide to distribute the clamping pressure more evenly.

The knob and 3/8 1-1/2’ bolt are available from Home Depot
https://www.homedepot.ca/product/paulin-3-8-inch-5-point-star-knob-in-black-1-pc/1000143967. You also might want to use a washer under the knob.

Ground cup is inserted into the ground and keeps the mast securely in place while mast is being installed, and provides additional support after the mast is fully secured with guy wires.

The aluminum spike is available on AliExpress, https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002959724412.html

If the link disappears, search AliExpress for “Ground Anchor For Radio Communication Pac-12 JPC-7 HF Antenna”. It is the ground spike used for very popular JPC-7 antenna. The thread is M10.

When slicing, flip the cup upside down, with the opening on the bottom. Add more infill around threaded parts where the spike would be supported. That should make it stronger. The tolerances are rather tight, so you might need to drill out to get the spike to fit properly.

All components can be 3D printed without supports.

See full description on how this cup and other parts of the antenna system are used in portable radio operation in May-June 2024 issue of SARC Communication Journal, published by Surrey Amateur Radio Communication.
