Summary

This part allows mounting a BN-220 GPS where the GoPro mount would usually be placed on the Speedybee Mario 5.

I don't have a GoPro or other camera attached so it just made sense to me to have the GPS in that spot.

If you use a very large battery the GPS may get blocked. Letting the drone aquire satellits without the battery on top and then attaching it before taking of helped me but I didn't test how precise the GPS is afterwards. So I wouldn't recomment doing so.

Mounting instructions:

  • attach the cable to your flight controller and route it out the front of the mario 5 (hang it out over the camera)
  • insert the two threaded tubes into the printed adapter
  • slide the GPS module into the adapter
  • put the adapter into your mario 5 above the cable and screw in the screws
  • insert the cable into the adapter. Use a tool to oush it in firmly while holding the GPS module to prevent breaking the 3D printed part
