Summary

Celebrate the first flight of the Falcon Heavy with the SpaceX Strongback! This print is designed to work with my Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy models, which can be found in the links below.

Falcon 9: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2457148

Falcon Heavy: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2478927

Model Features:
•Scaled to fit 1 original Falcon prints which are approximately 1m tall
•Arms swivel to grip around rocket
•Slide the strongback to the left while in the vertical position and you can fold it flat
•Slide the strongback to the right while in the vertical position and you can lock it in its 20° launch position

*****Files starting with "9-" are a narrowed version of the model to better match the model in the Falcon 9 configuration, similar to the strong back at pad 40 at Cape Canaveral. The build directions are the same, just using the "9-" parts. Use the regular arm files with this model.

Build instructions:
Print one of each: bottom left, bottom right, T1, T2, and T3
Print two arms
Print 6 base alignment tabs
Print 4 upper alignment tabs

The alignment tabs fit into slots on the model in order to help line up the pieces while gluing them together (see image).]

Assembly order from bottom to top: Bottom Left and Right, T1, T2, T3.

****NOTE: All parts require supports while printing. Make sure that there are NO SUPPORTS AROUND THE AXLE of the bottom left and right prints. If supports are printed inside the axle tube, they are difficult to remove and may bond to the axle, breaking it when rotated.
