SpaceShipOne, winner of the Ansari X-Prize back in 2003 after becoming the first commercial spacecraft to take a human into space, twice in the space of 2 weeks. Designed by Burt Rutan, and later bought over by Virgin Galactic to be developed into the larger SpaceShipTwo with the goal of transporting paying customers into space, thus beginning the space tourism race. It is noted for its iconic feathered wings which pitch up on re-entry for increased control and drag, along with its mothership-based launch sequence.
Normally I'd suggest scaling the Z axis(height) if the fit is too loose, but that might not work so well with the body-wing connector without glue, have not yet tested. If there's enough demand, I'll add a tighter version too.
Included are 2 versions of the kit, one with a thinner frame like the V1 Kit to minimise waste. Individual part files are too included as per usual. If printing without frame, be sure to print 2 of SpaceShipOne_Tail.stl!
Would love to see your makes, and tips are hugely appreciated!
Or perhaps, buy me a ticket to space?
