Bearing is not enough to keep the boom for wobbling or sagging, it also prevents boom from free movement (yeah, bearing alone worked too good).
It is designed as wearable part, can be replaced if it wears out.
Those cheap boom arms have hollow shaft so you can put your cable through.
The problem is, it's very narrow.
My microphone needs usb to usb-b cable. I approached this by cutting cable in half, guiding it through the shaft, and re-soldering it.
